Adam Sleiman is Going to Guatemala!

Hi Friends and Family,

My name is Adam Sleiman, and I'm excited to be writing you because I will be going on my very first overseas mission trip this summer. Most of you know my parents, and some of you have supported my sister on mission trips in the past, but I'd like to tell you a little more about myself and my trip.

Right now, I'm in ninth grade, and I attend the Global Studies and World Language program at Tallwood High School in Virginia Beach. There I study both Spanish and Arabic, as well as learn about global issues and international cultures on a regular basis. Through this, I am developing a real heart for people in other nations. All students in the program are encouraged to travel abroad, and I thought, what better way to experience the world than on a mission trip through which I can grow in Christ and bless others at the same time.

In addition to attending school, I also play soccer and compete in gymnastics. At church, I play both bass and piano for our small worship team, and I'm a regular helper for our children's ministry, including children's church, a preschool Sunday school class, and backyard Bible clubs. During the summer of 2015, I went on a domestic mission trip with my church to an impoverished part of West Virginia where we ministered through a children's Bible club and service projects.

All of my experiences fit really well with the trip I have the honor to be going on this summer. I will be traveling with a group of teens to the Spanish speaking country of Guatemala to work with children through vacation Bible school and sports, as well as tackling a variety of service projects in this under-developed area. Although many people in Guatemala are nominally Christian, most of those are involved in a mixture of tribal religions and cultural tradition that has not met their spiritual needs. Guatemala is also home to families living in garbage dumps, orphanages with abandoned children, and overflowing prisons. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus, and I'd like to invite you to join with me to bless the precious people of Guatemala.

The organization I will be going with is called Ambassador, a part of Adventures in Missions. You can read more about my trip here. The dates are June 30th - July 14th, and the cost of the trip is $2353. I hope you will consider supporting me either financially and/or through prayer. If you are able to support me through prayer, please respond to this email so that we can know to add you to my mission mailing list. To support me financially, please go to this direct link to my account to contribute your tax deductible donation*, and remember that any amount, no matter how small, is appreciated

I look forward to an amazing summer of ministering and growing in my faith among the people of Guatemala, and I hope you will be a part of it too! Thank you in advance for any support that you're able to offer.

God Bless You,
Adam Sleiman
